We offer free and donation-based classes in Spanish and English. All our classes are crafted with care and the intention to create a trauma-informed, accessible, and culturally relevant space that can facilitate rest and wellbeing for all our participants. Even though we welcome everyone to our classes, all of them center the experience and needs of immigrants, refugees, and people of color that have felt traditionally excluded from wellness and relaxation spaces due to cultural, financial or physical limitations.
We provide the necessary equipment for all of our classes, no experience in practicing yoga or registration is required.
Some of the yoga styles we offer include:
Hatha Yoga:
Hatha Yoga is a physical practice that combines posture (asanas), breath control (pranayama), and meditation to promote balance, flexibility, and strength. It offers a foundation for all other styles of yoga, focusing on aligning the body and calming the mind. Ideal for all bodies and experiences, it fosters both physical and mental well-being.
Vinyasa Flow:
Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a dynamic practice that links breath with movement, creating a smooth, continuous flow of postures. It focuses on building strength, flexibility, and stamina while promoting mindfulness and relaxation. Ideal for those who enjoy a more energetic and rhythmic practice.
Chair Yoga:
Chair Yoga is a gentle form of yoga that adapts traditional postures for practice while seated or using a chair and other props for support. It is perfect for individuals with limited mobility or those seeking a low-impact practice to improve flexibility, strength, and relaxation.
Restorative Yoga:
Restorative Yoga is a slow-paced practice focused on relaxation and healing, using props (blankets, chairs, pillows) to support the body in passive poses. It promotes deep relaxation, helps reduce stress, and enhances flexibility by holding poses for extended periods. Ideal for those seeking rest and rejuvenation.
Mindfulness Meditation:
Mindfulness Meditation is a practice that focuses on being fully present in the moment, observing thoughts and sensations without judgment. It helps reduce stress, increase awareness, and cultivate a sense of calm and clarity. Ideal for enhancing mental well-being and emotional balance. We include mindfulness meditation (either seated, standing or walking meditations) in all our classes.
